Only a short post about this weeks volunteering. We’ve been back at Hem Heath again for the last two days finishing off the the coppicing and glade work. Lucy and a few of the others had been up earlier in the week and finished cutting down all of the trees so all we had to do was cut up what was left, burn the brash and stack up the logs.
There’s been a bit of excitement this week; Laura is leaving us because she’s managed to get a job with an environmental consultancy and both Claire and I have got interviews next week for traineeships positions with the trust. There’s been lots of well-wishing and ‘what if’ contemplating. It also turns out that Lucy, who runs the volunteer party is likely to be my interviewer!
Anyway in more important news we’ve finally managed to finish all of the work up at Hem Heath so next week we will 100% be somewhere else. I’m looking forward to a change of scenery!
I’ll leave you with a picture of our beautiful glade!
